Olga (or Olya) was born in 1977 in Leningrad. She still has vivid memories of her childhood life during the socialist regime and the teenage years during Perestroyka. Olga's grandmother, Anastasia, was a natural storyteller with only 4 grades of school behind her shoulders, who spent hours with her granddaughter drinking afternoon tea and telling endless stories about life on the collective farm, survival during the World War II, the Arctic, and the Jewish people's bad fortune in Russia.
Inspired by The Three Musketeers, Olga wrote her first story when she was 11, followed by series of novels about fictional world that took place in the 18th century. Together with her best friend, they handwrote all the stories in school notebooks, binded them together and put in a handmade hard cover, accompanied with illustrations. When she was 14, she took her grandfather's old typewriter from the attic and typed a gritty modern day crime drama.
Soon after, her parents filed for divorce and she gave up writing altogether.
She tried her hand in screenwriting in 2007. Ever since, she's been writing on and off in both English and Russian. She considers herself new to the craft and is still trying to find her own voice.
A Snowboard Trip - has been optioned by a young director from Ohio.
Another short was custom written for one of the MP members and is set to be produced in early 2014.
